My faithful art friends,
Thank you so much for your continued interest and support of my art work.
I've been on a bit of a hiatus while I helped my daughter through a high risk pregnancy and a long NICU stay for my new grand daughter. I'm so grateful that my grand daughter is home now and doing well.
I'm steadily getting back into a painting routine and I'm happy to have some art news to report!
Earlier this summer I took a Plein Air painting workshop from a local and internationally known artist, Ken Cadwallader. It was so lovely to meet and learn with other local artists. These connections led to an invitation to participate in the Ada Art Show: Art in Nature that will take place on September 11 at Roselle Park in Ada, MI. The event includes a Plein Air event where 20 artists will paint throughout the day and then display there work for sale.
Other opportunities to hone in on my Plein Air skills continue throughout September. On September 18 I will be painting in the garden of Jean Stoffer's home during the Aperitivo Preview Event of the Madison Finale home tour. Then, the next day I leave for a 3 day Plein Air retreat at the Pierce Cedar Creek Institute in Hastings, MI. I'm so grateful for all these opportunities and I eagerly anticipate them all.
I've added 9 new paintings to my website, both landscape and still life. A selection are pictured.
Thank you for your time! I praise God for you and the beauty of each new day!
Sincerely, Jill
